PADM Mount Failure Replacement Sensors Porsche 991 | 981 | 718
Replacement integral sensors for Porsche PADM failure - an issue currently affecting the Porsche 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman, and 991 Porsche 911 -are costing owners thousands in unnecessary repairs. These billet-machined replacement PADM engine mount sensors provide a one-time solution to the common PADM fault codes P001013 and P001023, which relate to the left and right PADM engine mounts.
Porsche OPCs typically diagnose this fault as failed PADM engine mounts and recommend complete engine mount replacement as the fix. However, in the vast majority of cases, the issue is actually caused by a short to ground within the PADM sensor, not a failed mount. This failure is usually the result of cracked internal solder joints, demonstrated in this video here - CHECK IT OUT
When this Porsche PADM failure occurs, the engine mount defaults to the hard mount position. This means the vehicle remains perfectly safe to drive and, in many cases, actually feels better during spirited driving. Notably, the hard mount position is exactly how the system operates when the car is driven in Sport and Sport Plus modes.
PADM Sensor Spec
Designed as a direct replacement, our PADM sensor kit uses a fully enclosed chipboard and jack-plug connection to completely eliminate the possibility of future failure. Unlike the factory PADM sensor - which relies on a soldered and glued connection that is prone to cracking and short-to-ground faults - our design removes this weak point entirely.
The original sensor is removed, and our replacement sensor is securely bolted to the existing sensor body, ensuring a robust, permanent solution. By eliminating the solder-and-glue style connection used by Porsche, this failure cannot occur again, providing true long-term peace of mind.

Specific Model PADM Warning
We offer two sensor options to permanently resolve Porsche PADM disable fault codes.
-
Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster models use a slightly different PADM sensor, which in most cases can be installed with the engine mounts remaining in place, making fitting quicker and simpler.
-
Porsche 911 (991) – all models require removal of both PADM engine mounts, which must be split in order to install the new PADM system sensors.
Please select your vehicle model from the drop-down box above to ensure the correct sensor is supplied.
New PADM Sensor Guarentee
Our PADM sensors are not cheap, generic alternatives. Each unit is precision-machined, professionally assembled, and quality-checked in controlled batch quantities to ensure consistent performance and long-term reliability.
Because of this, we confidently offer a 2-year replacement guarantee.
If your check engine light returns and the vehicle stores the same PADM fault codes, we will replace the sensors free of charge.
FAQ
- What symptoms will I experience when PADM fails?
In almost all cases, the engine management light (EML) will illuminate on the dashboard with a yellow warning indicating PADM is unavailable.
The vehicle will also store fault codes:
P001013 – Left engine mount
P001023 – Right engine mount
- Will I need to code the sensors?
No. No coding is required.
Simply fit the sensors, clear the fault codes using an OBD scanner, and continue driving.
- Is my Porsche warranty affected?
We have not had any warranties declined as a result of fitting these sensors. While the PADM engine mounts themselves may no longer be covered under Porsche warranty, it is highly unlikely that this would affect the remainder of your vehicle’s warranty.
