Since the introduction of the B4 2.0l engine for the latest Porsche Cayman and Boxster, the potential for 718 tuning has skyrocketed. Here at Genome Design, we took the opportunity to develop a bespoke range of tuning packages, from our Stage 1 Porsche Cayman 718 remap to a full Stage 2 package including specialist components to extract the most from our customers' Porsches' performance.

Our Porsche 718 Cayman tuning begins with the most popular option, our Stage 1 ECU calibration. This remap is engineered to work perfectly with the Cayman or Boxster's stock components, giving huge horsepower and torque increases over stock. This calibration unlocks the extra power that Porsche left in reserve.

During our testing, we recognised that it is vital to completely rebuild the Porsche OEM torque request tables. This eliminates the sub-par torque and power delivery (This is represented as the dotted line on both graphs in stock form).

Furthermore, it is vital to build torque request and boost gradually at low rpm to avoid compressor surge at the early onset of boost. If the torque demand is too high at low RPM, the car will make too much boost and begin to surge at low RPM & high load state.

Our Stage 1 718 2.0 remap offers a balance of torque control and boost request which gives a perfect driving experience along with an incredibly smooth dyno graph.

GD400 Porsche 718 Stage 2

With such impressive potential in stock form, Porsche Cayman tuning was always going to be high on our priority list. However, being tantalizingly close to the 400hp mark we felt it was necessary to embark on the development of a full stage 2 tuning package.

This kit has carefully hand-selected components to blend seamlessly with our stage 2 ECU calibration, releasing greater power and consistency.

Having spent over 100 hours of dyno time fine-tuning and fettling our Porsche Boxster and Cayman stage 2 remap package, we have ironed out every imperfection found in the stock Porsche tune. As a result, we have found a true sweet spot for the 718 stage 2 package.

This package produces the below figures at a healthy 1.78Bar peak boost pressure tailing off to 1.5bar at high RPM this avoids any overspeeding of the turbo shaft.

With our stage 2 718 tuning kit, you can expect upwards of 400hp & 360Ib flawlessly. The driving experience from a small chassis rear wheel drive Cayman or Boxster at this level is simply electrifying.

All of our Genome Porsche Tuning is coupled with a full health inspection prior to carrying our calibration on our in house 2000whp hub dyno. This provides a full analysis before and after the remap.
