Since the introduction of the B4 2.0l engine for the latest Porsche Cayman and Boxster, the potential for 718 tuning has improved significantly. At Genome Design, we've developed a bespoke range of tuning packages for the Porsche Cayman 718. From our refined Stage 1 remap to the comprehensive Stage 2 package, complete with specialist components. Each option is engineered specifically to maximise performance and get the most out of your Porsche Cayman or Boxster.

Our Porsche 718 Cayman tuning starts with the most popular choice - our Stage 1 ECU calibration. Our remap has been precisely created to work alongside the factory components of both the Cayman and Boxster, delivering a substantial increase in horsepower and torque. It’s the extra performance Porsche left on the table we have to play with.

During our development and testing, we identified the need to completely recalibrate the OEM torque request tables. This was essential to eliminate the inconsistent torque and power delivery seen in stock form—illustrated by the dotted line in the dyno graphs.

Equally important was managing torque and boost build-up at low RPM to prevent compressor surge. Excessive torque demand at low engine speeds can cause the turbo to generate too much boost too early, resulting in surge under high load.

Our Stage 1 718 2.0L remap addresses these issues with finely balanced torque control and boost request, delivering a smooth, consistent power curve and an exceptional driving experience, which shows on a dyno graph.

GD400 Porsche 718 Stage 2

With so much potential in stock form, Porsche Cayman tuning was always going to be high on our priority list. However, being tantalisingly close to the 400hp mark, we felt it was necessary to develop a full Stage 2 tuning package.

This package has carefully hand-selected components to blend seamlessly with our Stage 2 ECU calibration, releasing greater power and consistency.

Having spent over 100 hours of dyno time fine-tuning our Porsche Boxster and Cayman stage 2 remap package, we have ironed out every imperfection found in the stock Porsche tune. As a result, we have found a true sweet spot for the 718 stage 2 package.

This package produces the below figures at a healthy 1.78Bar peak boost pressure tailing off to 1.5bar at high RPM this avoids any over speeding of the turbo shaft.

With our stage 2 718 tuning kit, you can expect upwards of 400hp & 350Ib flawlessly. The driving experience from a small chassis rear wheel drive Cayman or Boxster at this level is fantastic.

All of our Genome Porsche Cayman Tuning is coupled with a full health inspection prior to carrying out the calibration on our in house 2000whp hub dyno. This provides a full analysis before and after the remap.
