When it comes to Porsche 911 tuning, here at Genome we leave no stone unturned. The latest 991.2 variant of the Carrera carries possibly the most tuneable Porsche turbocharged engine to date. Purposefully detuned from the factory, the 3.0T flat-six twin-turbocharged Porsche engine leaves an extensive amount of performance on the table. Thus, not taking away potential custom from its bigger brother, the Porsche Turbo.

We have engineered our bespoke Porsche 991 Carrera S tuning options to unleash the true potential of this outstanding 3.0t engine and turbo package. Our Porsche 991.2 tuning packages have been carefully sculpted using our 2000whp hub dyno at our purpose-built Porsche tuning facility in the heart of Yorkshire.

Porsche 991.2 Tuning Statistics:

The Porsche 991 3.0 Turbo Tuning for Carrera and Carrera S models is known as our GD480 this stage 1 remap is developed specifically to work with the 991.2 stock hardware. Our bespoke calibration of the Siemens/Continental SDI21 ECU engine management system optimises all the available power from the OEM engine hardware producing breathtaking power and torque gains through the whole rev range. Our GD480 911 3.0l remap is making peak torque of 480Ib from as little as 2800rpm and more than 500bhp at 7600rpm (See below graph).

Furthermore, we can achieve a consistent 480-500bhp at the engine whilst keeping intake temperatures under control with the minimal airflow available to the intercoolers. Charge temperatures on the Porsche Carrera base through to GTS models are a challenge due to not having side ducting built into the body such as the Turbo and Turbo S models. Managing heat and protecting the engine is the main target for increased power levels and the GD480 Calibration does this perfectly.

More notable is the incredible power and torque curve throughout the mid-range which offers an impressive 125 ft lbs of torque & 100whp gain.

Porsche 991.2 Tuning Highlights:

Boost Control: - Finite adjustments to the boost controller offer improvements in throttle response and driveability.

Lambda Settings: - Adjusting finer details of the air-fuel ratio set points allows for better MPG in low-speed environments and greater protection during high performance.

Ignition Timing Optimisation: - Optimised ignition tables for improved performance based on fuel grade requirements. optimising ignition and knock control increases performance without reducing engine life.

Rev Limit Increases: - Optional removal of soft rev limits coupled with increased engine rpm limits done correctly with optimised over rev limits meaning the ECU will not detect the extra rpm as over rev.

  • Tuned            450WHP & 475Ib (501bhp) HIGH TORQUE

As is demonstrated in the graph above, we have utilised the factory capabilities of the Siemens/Continental SID21 engine management system to develop a 991.2 Carrera tune that offers a smooth and sophisticated driving experience with an OEM+ throttle response whilst developing astonishing peak power and torque results.

The main difference between the Base model, S models, and GTS Carrera are the turbochargers. The S carries a slightly bigger compressor wheel than the base model K03 BorgWarner turbocharger, and the GTS is fitted with the bigger K04s turbocharger arrangement which allows it to make further power increases over the other models.

All of our Porsche 911 991 tuning is carried out in our temperature-controlled dyno cell. This not only allows a safe environment for our engineers to work in but offers consistent airflow and ambient temperature whilst your Porsche has its engine and transmission ECU upgrade carried out. We use the latest in data logging technology to custom-calibrate every Porsche ECU remap to perfection.

As can be seen below in the data logs, we have achieved these power and torque figures whilst controlling boost pressure and ignition timing to perfection. This is down to our deep understanding of the component protection features of the 991.2 ECU.

Porsche Carrera | Carrera S Stage 2 Tuning Package

 

Our stage 2 tuning package for the 991.2 Carrera platform consists of carefully curated hardware to ensure ultimate performance without the requirement to change the stock turbochargers.

Producing more than 540bhp on the base model 570bhp on the Carrera S and 600bhp on the GTS model this puts performance in line with the 911 turbo. It is also possible to take the larger KO4 turbo from the GTS and install it to the Base and S models to achieve the 600bhp this is one of our most popular upgrades offered.

The TCU upgrade optimises clamping pressure, shift points, shift speeds, and raises internal torque limits.
