The 991.2 Carrera presents exceptional tuning potential, we specialise in refining its turbocharged platform to deliver enhanced performance with factory-level drivability.

At Genome Design, we take Porsche 911 Carrera tuning seriously - and the 991.2 Carrera is no exception. This generation features one of the most tuneable turbocharged Porsche engines to date. The 3.0L twin-turbo flat-six was deliberately detuned from the factory to maintain separation from the 911 Turbo, which means there's a huge amount of untapped performance waiting to be unlocked.

Our Porsche 991 Carrera S tuning packages are designed to optimise the 3.0T engine and turbo setup. Developed in-house using our 2000whp hub dyno at our Porsche tuning facility in Yorkshire, each package has been created to deliver reliable, performance-focused results.

Porsche Carrera Tuning - Stage 1:

Our GD480 tuning package is designed specifically for the Porsche 991.2 Carrera and Carrera S models. Delivering exceptional performance gains from the factory 3.0L turbo engine. Our Stage 1 remap is tailored to work with all stock hardware, using a bespoke calibration of the Siemens/Continental SDI21 ECU.

The results? A dramatic increase in power and torque across the entire rev range. Producing peak torque of 480 lb-ft from just 2,800 rpm and over 500 bhp at 7,600 rpm. (see attached graph)

The GD480 calibration delivers a consistent 480–500 bhp at the engine while maintaining safe intake temperatures. Despite the limited airflow to the intercoolers on Carrera and GTS models. Unlike the Turbo and Turbo S, these models lack side ducting, making charge temperature control a key challenge.

Our focus with the GD480 was not only extracting power, but managing heat effectively to ensure long-term engine reliability.

What truly stands out is the strong mid-range performance, with gains of up to 125 lb-ft of torque and 100 whp. Resulting in a car that feels significantly more responsive and powerful throughout everyday driving.

Porsche 991.2 Tuning Highlights:

Boost Control - Precise adjustments to boost control improve throttle response and overall drivability across the rev range.

Lambda Settings - Refined air-fuel ratio targets enhance fuel efficiency during low-speed driving and offer greater engine protection under high load.

Ignition Timing Optimisation - Ignition tables are calibrated to suit fuel grade, improving performance and knock resistance—delivering gains without compromising engine longevity.

Rev Limit Increases - Optional soft rev limit removal and raised RPM limits are implemented with optimised over-rev handling. Ensuring the ECU operates safely without triggering faults.

GD480 Porsche 991.2 Carrera T, S and Standard models - Stock Vs GD480 Remap:

• Stock - 375WHP & 360Ib (420bhp)
• Tuned - 450WHP & 475Ib (501bhp) HIGH TORQUE 
• Low Torque - 430WHP & 440Ib (481bhp) LOW TORQUE

As shown in the graph above, we've fully maximised the capabilities of the Siemens/Continental SID21 engine management system. Which has created a 991.2 Carrera calibration that delivers smooth, refined performance with OEM+ throttle response. The result is exceptional peak power and torque, delivered in a controlled and responsive manner.

One of the key differences across the 991.2 Carrera range lies in the turbochargers. The base model is equipped with a K03 BorgWarner turbo, while the S features a slightly larger compressor wheel for increased flow. The GTS takes things further with a K04 turbocharger setup, allowing for even greater power potential compared to the base and S variants.

All Porsche 911 tuning at Genome Design is carried out within our temperature-controlled dyno cell. This ensures a safe, controlled environment for our engineers and provides consistent airflow and ambient conditions throughout the calibration process. Using the latest data logging technology, each Porsche ECU is individually tuned for optimal performance and reliability.

As shown in the data logs, we’ve achieved impressive power and torque figures while maintaining precise control over boost pressure and ignition timing. This level of refinement is made possible by our in-depth understanding of the 991.2 ECU’s component protection strategies

Porsche Carrera Tuning Package - Stage 2: 

Our Stage 2 tuning package for the 991.2 Carrera platform consists of carefully curated hardware to ensure ultimate performance without the requirement to change the stock turbochargers.

Producing more than 540bhp on the base model 570bhp on the Carrera S and 600bhp on the GTS model this puts performance in line with the 911 turbo. It is also possible to take the larger KO4 turbo from the GTS and install it to the Base and S models to achieve the 600bhp.

Stage 2 Software Requirements:

GD Engine Remap Calibration - Stage 2 tuning is required and will be calibrated specifically for 99 RON fuel unless otherwise requested.

GD Stage 2 PDK / TCU Tune - Our TCU upgrade enhances clamping pressure, optimises shift points and speeds, and increases the transmission’s internal torque limits for improved performance and drivability.
