Plug-in OBD solution for competition Porsches from 2008 onwards.

Track and competition cars often run non-standard components the engine control unit was never calibrated to expect. The result is fault codes and warning lights that mean nothing on circuit, but get in the way of spotting the faults that do matter. This OBD solution plugs into the diagnostic port and manages those known, expected codes so the car's fault reporting stays useful.

How it works

• Plugs straight into the OBD diagnostic port. No wiring, and no changes to the ECU software.
• Monitors the engine control unit's fault memory in real time while the car is running.
• You teach it the specific fault codes you want it to manage. It clears those codes when they appear, including any already stored.
• Any code it hasn't been taught is left alone, so the fault memory and warning light carry on working as normal for everything else.
• Teaching can be repeated as often as you like. If it detects a different vehicle, learned codes reset automatically and it starts fresh.

Fitment

Designed for CAN-bus vehicles from model year 2008 onwards, petrol or diesel. Some earlier cars use the same protocol and can be identified by pins 6 and 14 being populated on the diagnostic socket. A small number of engine control units don't allow fault codes to be cleared while driving, and on those cars the unit won't work. Not applicable to fully electric models. What you need to know

• The unit doesn't display fault codes. You'll need a code reader to see which codes are stored before teaching.
• Teaching is done by plugging the unit in, unplugging it and plugging it back in. Whatever codes are stored at that point are learned.
• Only teach codes you've diagnosed and know to be harmless in your application. It doesn't fix faults, and genuine faults should always be investigated.
